She hit the headlines yesterday, after being spotted in a tattoo parlour getting inked in honour of her two young daughters, but there is another sad reason behind Drew Barrymore’s media attention this weekend.
According to reports, the Hollywood star has called time on her marriage to husband of three years, Will Kopelman.
The news was broken in the New York Post’s Page Six, with a source telling the publication: “They’ve been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids.”
The former couple are parents to three-year-old Olive and 23-month-old Frankie.
This was Drew’s third marriage. She was previously married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas and, more famously, comedian and actor Tom Green.
Drew met art consultant Will in 2011, with the pair going on to exchange vows a year later. Their first child, daughter Olive, was born shortly after.
While best known for her movie career, after becoming a mother Drew shifted her focus to the beauty industry so that she could concentrate more on her children.
In an interview with More magazine, the 41-year-old said: “I love the beauty industry because even on a workday I can wake up with my kids, go to work, come home, bedtime – there’s a normal life there…As you add more onto your plate, particularly family, things have to fall off, or you won’t be a good parent.”
We are sad to hear the news, but we wish Drew and Will – and their little girls – all the best.
