Every new mum needs to hear Eva Longorias postpartum body comments

There is an immense amount of pressure put on women who have just given birth.

The expectation that you should be able to fit into your old pair of jeans that you wore pre-motherhood is insane - yet so many of us feel that we should.

However, some new mum's have had enough - and they're making it known.

Actor Eva Longoria is one of those women and she had something to say about her body post-pregnancy.

The 43-year-old welcomed her first child in June, a son Santiago, with her husband Jose ''Pepe'' Baston.

Eva is not going to let the pressure to lose weight affect her.

She said, ''I don’t really succumb to any pressure. So if people were saying, ‘Hurry up and lose weight,’ I don’t know, because I don’t listen to it."

She continued, ''I’ve had some amazing women in my life -  my mom, my sisters - who really taught me about my self-worth from very early on in life...I come from a family of strong women, so it would have been impossible for me to lose my self-worth.”

Eva has spoken before about her postpartum body and how grateful she is for the changes it has gone through.

She said, '' I am very grateful and thankful for my body for making this amazing human being. So immediately putting it through the wringer to get back into shape is not a priority. Every time I breastfeed, I say ‘thank you’ to my boobs. I’m like, ‘Thank you for giving me a child! Thank you, boobs, thank you, body, for doing all of this for my son.'"

Her words are a reminder to all new mum's that you don't have to do anything that others expect you to do - being happy in yourself and your baby is the most important thing.
