Our children’s interests are never straight-cut, so why should their birthday celebrations and cakes be?

This is the view of one Reddit user, who was recently asked by her three-year-old daughter for a Star Wars-themed Chewbacca cake.

As Today reports, the little girl named Sophie is a huge Star Wars fan, but she also loves all things frilly and girly.

What Sophie’s mum - referred to only by her screen name 'JamieInTheNorthWest' – decided to do was purchase a Chewbacca figurine in a bid to get a baker to turn it into a frills-and-all cake.

After being turned away by numerous cake stores, it was this mother’s friend who finally took on the mammoth project!

“My amazing friend, Megan, came to the rescue and offered to make Chewy a beautiful cake dress. She nailed it!” wrote Jamie, sharing a series of amazing and hilarious photos of the epic cake.

That wasn’t the end of the special surprises for Sophie, however – her grandmother also made her a Star Wars print dress for her big day!

Talk about pulling out all of the stops – fair play to all involved!
