It seems like every other week a celebrity mum is forced to justify her appearance or defend her apparent weight gain, and unfortunately it doesn't look like it's showing any signs of letting up.

This weekend, singer and mum-of-one, Pink, was forced to hit back at critics who expressed 'concern' over her weight in an open letter she posted on her Twitter page.

The Just Give Me a Reason singer, who welcomed a daughter into the life she shares with husband Carey Hart in 2011, took to social media following jibes she received about the plunging black dress she chose to wear to the 30th annual Odyssey Ball in Los Angeles on Saturday evening,

In a frank post, the much-loved singer wrote: "I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You're referring to the pictures of me from last night's cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer."

In an undisguised dig at her critics' priorities, the star continued: "But unfortunately my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn't photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful."

Stressing that the public's concern would be better spent elsewhere, Pink finished by saying: "So, my good and concerned peoples, please don't worry about me. I'm not worried about me. And I'm not worried about you either. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern."

Hats off to Pink for silencing her critics with the dignity and sass she's known for and for the record, we think Pink looked incredible on the night!
