Having welcomed a baby daughter into the life she shares with husband Harry Needs on June 8th this year, it looks like this Olympic swimmer is taking to motherhood like a duck to water!

Having documented her attempts to remain fit and active throughout her pregnancy, it's no surprise that Rebecca Adlington is now keen to involve her daughter in her passions and it sounds like the beautiful Summer may soon follow in her mum's footsteps.

Rebecca admits she was concerned her daughter wouldn't share her love of water, saying: "When we first bathed her, she just screamed the whole time so I was a bit worried, but now she loves bath time."

Hopeful her little one may get the same joy from the swimming pool as she and her husband do, Rebecca recalled their first experience, saying: "It was absolutely brilliant. You never know how babies are going to react but Summer was absolutely brilliant in the water."

Explaining the impact Summer's reaction has had on her and Harry, Rebecca explained; "We both love being in the water so for us, it's amazing that we can take her in and share this family time together."

In the interview with Hello!, Rebecca goes on to explain the new parents approach to the exciting endeavour, saying: "Harry and I go in the water and pass her to one another and take turns going under the water. She comes back up, blinks a lot and there's been no tears at all. It's going really well so far."

Eager to introduce her daughter to the sport at the earliest opportunity, the 26-year-old mum-of-one said: "She can't do much at this stage. We can't take her to the zoo and she doesn't really play with toys yet, but swimming is the one thing she can do and we can all do it together as a family."

Aw, what a truly adorable family!
