4moms have invented an incredibly futuristic self-installing car seat which takes the fumbling and guesswork out of installing your child’s seat.

According to 4moms, four out of five car seats aren’t installed properly, defying the whole purpose of having a safety seat in the first place. With their system they say correct installation is guaranteed.

“We've built a robot in the base of the car seat so that it installs itself, is never installed incorrectly, and every time you put a child into the seat it verifies the installation,” says Rob Daley, 4moms CEO.

So how exactly does it work? Well you simply plonk the seat down onto the base, click the LATCH connectors into place and watch it self-install! You can then follow its progress as it fits itself automatically into the correct place by watching the connected app.

The seat also periodically checks itself to make sure the angle is still correct and the tension is tight, which you can keep an eye on by checking your phone.

Of course a cutting-edge piece of technology like this doesn't come cheap. Retailing at $499 it's not the most accessible car seat for many mums, but there’s no denying it’s a pretty cool piece of equipment if you can afford it!
