It's been a warm and wet summer... which can mean only one thing: the arrival of BILLIONS of insects.
In fact, one creepy-crawly in particular is right now set to invade Britain: yes... step forward giant species of daddy-long-legs.

One expert in particular has warned that as many as 200 BILLION daddy-long-legs could shortly arrive on British shores.
Usually, the creatures are about 1in (2.5cm) in length, but the late burst of September heat means that daddy-long-legs around FOUR times (4in/10cm) that size are lurking.
Has anyone else noticed an invasion of daddy long legs?! They are everywhere!

Buglife’s Rory Dimond told telegraph.co.uk: “They are gradually spreading northwards. They are a non-native species, and they come in from the trading points down the south, in areas like Dover and Kent.
“When the summer is warmer they have more chance of wandering between houses and colonising that way.”

Daddy-long-legs prefer the warmth of homes and cannot survive outside in the winter months.
Mr Dimond added that daddy-long-legs - also known as crane flies - are completely harmless and do not bite.
