THE BIRTH OF NAMES IN KNIT

 

1980:  Having dinner with friends and talking about our future.  What would the future be like for us as young married couples?  Would we have children?  Yes, of course.  As new Moms will we still work full time and put our babies in Day Care?  Well maybe.  That answer is what did it for me.  I knew I would want to start a family within the next couple of years—I knew I did not want to continue working as a dietitian for the WIC Program.  I knew I did not want to use childcare outside my home.  I knew I would go crazy if I just stayed home.  So in 1980, 2 years before my first son was born while I was working full time, Names In Knit was born (really my first baby).  I could now see my future as my life was going to be changing.  Fast forward 30 plus years later....2 sons...married, 1 grand child and another one on the way.  WOOHOO!
