You may feel like you JUST brought your sweet newborn home, swaddled in blankets, smelling all fresh and new, but you’ve already blown out their first candle on their birthday cake and life has just started to get a little bit more chaotic.
Kids grow up fast (that we know), but it is never more obvious when you say goodbye to the baby years as you enter a whole new parenting era: toddlerhood.
Now that your little angel has managed to master the art of moving without your help via The Roll or The Bum Shuffle, life as you know it is no longer, but that's not the only sign your little one is now a toddler.
1. You won’t find them in the last place you left them
You WILL find them rummaging through the kitchen cupboards though.
2. They now wiggle their way OUT of the buggy
Usually while you are moving...
3. They have become erratically possessive about their toys
Don’t you DARE go near their favourite bear – not even to wash it.
4. They are REALLY good at playing hide-and-seek
Especially when you are out shopping.
5. You've found yourself weighing up the pros and cons of arm straps
Now that you have given up all hope of ever getting them back in the buggy.
6. You’ve started reading up on potty training
And are dreading it. Like for real.
7. They have an adorable walk that makes your heart melt
You know the cute little waddle that makes their nappy look massive!?!
8. You no longer buy babygrows
*Sad face*
9. You actually have to go and get their feet measured for shoes
You can’t just pick up the cute little canvas ones you are forever drooling over.
10. You are CONSTANTLY running out of plasters
Because they are constantly falling over!
11. Your reflexes have been put through their paces more times this week then in your entire life
Your little one has decided that climbing the back of the chair is a good idea.
12. Your bathroom floor ends up with more water than the actual bath
Bathtime is no longer about sweet lullabies and gurgles... Now you are like a SWAT team - in and out as soon as you can.
13. Crying has been replaced by whining
And constant nos.
14. They try to ease your workload by taking their own nappy off
Sometimes while they are still going.
