A grandmother’s photos of her granddaughter have landed her in trouble with Child Protective Services recently.
The photos caused concern for many online, and eventually were brought to the attention of authorities.
Jackie Sheaks says the photos, which feature her little granddaughter both with duct tape on her face and in a roasting tin, were meant to be funny: “It started as just a joke. We put a little tape on the pacifier because we were being silly. We wanted to share it with friends because everyone that knows us knows we play around like that.”
However, the online community, local police and CPS did not see the funny side to the photos of the baby.
The grandmother now says she has learnt from the incident, saying: “Oh, it’s definitely taught me a lesson. What we think is funny, other people don’t. It will never happen again.”
The little girl’s mother did not find an issue with the photos and no charges were brought against the grandmother.
