The sad news of her passing was announced just under a fortnight ago, and this week her heartbroken son has publicly spoken out to pay a touching tribute to her.

Following the death of Hollywood actress Diana Douglas Webster, her son Michael Douglas gave an insight into their relationship and life together during an emotionally-charged interview this week.

The 70-year-old, who is currently promoting his new movie Ant-Man, told Variety: “She was a class act. A real lady. She had a wicked sense of humour, very bright. Just all around, she was a wonderful lady.”

Opening up about what she taught him about acting, Michael added: “She taught me more about giving it your best shot and maintaining a good form. She was English-Bermudian so they kind of have a stiff upper lip to carry on.”

Diana we are so grateful to have had you in our lives. We will miss you everyday. Until we meet again...Love you very much. ❤️

Diana passed away from cancer on July 3, at the age of 92. Michael, who said he is “still digesting” her passing, was supported by wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children as he stepped out for the premiere of Ant-Man in the days following his mother’s death.

Catherine, too, paid tribute to her mother-in-law last week, posting a beautiful vintage photo of her on Instagram, saying that she would ‘miss her every day’.
