Danielle Lloyd has revealed that her seven-year-old son Archie is having counselling because he is struggling with separation anxiety.

In her pregnancy blog for OK!, the reality TV star wrote: “He’s very clingy to me and my fiancé Michael and is really scared of one of us leaving”.

She made the heartbreaking revelation that Archie is "really scared of us leaving and never coming back.

“If we go to the shop or Michael goes to the gym, he has to check where we are, what time we’re going to be back, he gets quite upset.

“I couldn’t get out of the car to go to the cash point the other day because he thought I wasn’t going to come back, and I was literally just outside the car.

"It’s horrible and I feel really horrible for him, I just wanted to get him the help he needed”.

Little Archie is already benefiting from speaking to a counsellor about his worries, according to the mum-of-three.

“Archie went again on Tuesday and he loved it. I think it’s just so good for him to go and express his feelings to someone else", she explained.

"They’ve given him an exercise at home, if he has any worries he has to write them down and put them in a bag, once he’s put them in the bag they disappear forever."

Danielle, who is expecting her fourth child any day now, said she had a positive reaction from her fans when she opened up about Archie’s difficulties.

“I think it’s important for someone in the public eye to make it normal, and point out that it’s not something you should be ashamed of, or think it’s not ok for a child to go because it is. I think you should start early if your child has problems,” Danielle wrote.

We admire Danielle for getting Archie professional help and reassurance to guide him through this difficult time.

We hope that attending counselling will give him peace of mind and help him cope better with separation.
