Love them or loathe them, there's no doubt that the Kardashian family certainly know how to generate column inches and air-time.

While the vast majority of the public have an opinion on the world-famous reality television family, it seems fellow stars are also eager to air their views on the clan from Calabasas.

Appearing on Saturday Night Live, Hollywood star, Amy Schumer, reflected on the famous family's contribution to society and questioned whether they were appropriate role models for young girls.

The 34-year-old actress and comedian, who is the proud aunt of an 18-month-old girl, laid her feelings on the matter bare, saying: "We have to be a role model for these little girls. Because who do they have? All they have literally is the Kardashians."

The star, who hit the headlines for falling at the feet of Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye during a red carpet appearance in April, cast aspersions on the Kardashian women's supposed reliance on cosmetic surgery.

"Is that a great message for little girls? A whole family of women who take the faces they were born with as like, a light suggestion?" she asked with trademark deadpan humour.

Amy, who has bore the brunt of much criticism on account of the fact she refuses to bow to size and beauty ideals deemed accepted by Hollywood, lamented Khloé Kardashian's new-found interest in attaining the perfect shape.

"We used to have Khloe, Khloe was ours, right? Whenever there’s a group of women, you identify with one of them," she started.

"But then Khloe, she lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall, and we have nothing. I want good role models," demanded the incredibly popular New York-native.

We wonder what momager Kris Jenner will have to say about Amy's assessment of her star family!
