If you have oily skin and want to try a facial mask that will remove dirt and draw out excess oil,  try one of these homemade facial masks. Our recipes contain all natural ingredients that work to clean deep and remove impurities while leaving your skin feeling great and glowing.

When using a facial mask, we recommend that you start with clean skin. Use your facial cleanser as you would normally, then exfoliate for even better results. For an added boost, open your pores first using a warm, wet towel. Leave the towel on your skin for about 5 minutes then apply the facial mask.

Honey and Banana Moisturizing Mask
The honey and banana add moisture without adding extra oils. The facial mask works great on acne-prone or oily skin.
What you need:
  • 1 banana (overly ripe bananas are the best)
  • 1 tablespoon of pure honey
Smash the banana with a fork. Now add the honey to the banana and mix until smooth and creamy. Apply the mixture to clean skin. Massage into the skin using circular motions. Wait 15 – 20 minutes and wash the mask off thoroughly.

Yogurt and Strawberry Cleansing Mask
The salicylic acid naturally found in strawberries cleans deep into your pores, while the yogurt soothes and moisturizes. This facial mask is perfect for oily skin that is prone to break outs.
What you need:
  • 1/4 cup yogurt (plain)
  • 1/4 cup strawberries (fresh works best, but frozen will work if you can’t find fresh berries)
Start by using a fork to smash the strawberries in a bowl until they are almost pureed. Then, add the yogurt and blend until well mixed. Using your finger, apply the mask to your skin, massaging in small circular motions. Allow the mask to stay on for at least 15 minutes, then remove with warm water.

Natural Green Clay Facial Mask
This simple clay mask uses natural green clay, an organic material that contains essential minerals, iron oxides and decomposed plant matter, to draw oil and dirt from deep within the pores. Leaves skin looking radiant and feeling wonderful.
What you need:
  • 1 tablespoon natural green clay (also called illite – available at beauty supply stores and some health food stores)
  • Water
Add the green clay to a small bowl. Begin adding small amounts of water and mixing until the mixture has the consistency of a paste. Spread the mixture on clean skin suing small circular motions. Allow the mask to stay on your face for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
