Postnatal depression is thought to affect 10% of women in the UK, although the figure may be much higher due to the stigma that people fear is attached to admitting they need help.

This May, PANDAS Foundation are asking children and their parents across the country to raise money to help those affected by pre and postnatal mental health illnesses by holding a Teddy Bear's Picnic.

PANDAS Foundation provides support for families affected by pre and postnatal depression; all their support is provided by volunteers who either have first hand experience or have cared for someone who has.

The charity was started in 2011 after Rachael Jones experienced problems with postnatal depression following the birth of her son.

Despite receiving great care she found herself wanting to speak to others who had been through it, and PANDAS was born!
