A mum of twins revealed she was left “humiliated” after a restaurant manager berated her for changing her son’s nappy on the grass outside The Farmhouse Café in Guildford.

Dion Skull, 31, left a one-star review on the café’s Facebook page, saying she would never frequent their establishment again despite visiting “once a week” prior to this incident.

Dion was eating outside with her one-year-old twin boys Luca and Zack and a group of mum friends when she realised she had to change Zack’s nappy.

As a regular customer, Dion knew her twin pushchair wouldn’t fit inside the café’s baby changing facilities and had changed her little ones before she left home.

'However, when I got there, Zack had gone to the toilet. He has chickenpox, which was why we were sitting outside. I couldn't leave him in a soiled nappy”, she explained.

Unfortunately, another customer made a complaint to the restaurant manager after Dion changed Zack on the grass.

Dion said she felt "publicly humiliated" after the manager shouted at her in front of the other customers.

"You didn't need to publicly embarrass me. I didn't need to leave with hot eyes and a lump in my throat", she wrote.

Dion’s post quickly gathered traction online as others responded to her review.

Another mum wrote: “I am also a parent of one-year-old twins. I can barely fit the pram into any baby change facilities or disabled loo. My babies cannot walk or stand unaided.

“In the same situation, I would not have been able to carry both into the changing room, let alone leave one sat on the toilet floor whilst I change the other. To say that this mum was failing because she couldn’t deal with two babies at once is disgraceful”.

However, a woman claiming to be the customer who complained hit back saying: “I get that you think the sun shines out of your children’s mucky backsides but not everyone needs to see them.

"Don’t blame the staff for asking you to use the perfectly clean and quite large changing facilities, you were in the wrong”.

However, after support poured in for Dion, she removed her mum-shaming comment.

This story has proved to be quite contentious– what do you think mums?
