You can truly never know what is really going on in a person’s life, and this has just been illustrated in a powerful way by a mum-of-two.

Cierra Lyn Fortner took to Facebook to share a special message to all mums who ‘don’t have it together’: no one really does, but you're doing fine.

The devoted mum recalled a recent incident at her local supermarket, when a cashier paid her a huge compliment.

Cierra wrote: “She says to me, ‘I see you in here all the time, your kids are always dressed cute, behaving, and you just seem to have it all together.’”

The mum was astonished and simply ‘thanked her and giggled’ because, in her mind, ‘that’s far from the truth’.

In fact, Cierra’s life is far from picture-perfect – and there is so much more to it that she wished the cashier knew.

“I want her to know I battle a personality disorder everyday with anxiety and depression mixed, and I’m a two times suicide survivor,” she wrote.

“I want her to know that I can’t always get myself up off the couch to feed the kids anything more than frozen pizza and cereal.”

And the list goes on: her son is often late for school as she regularly forgets the day; she hadn’t washed her hair in three days; she locks herself in the bathroom during her ‘lose my s**t’ moments.

“I don’t know a mother out there that has it all together, but everything we do is done with love for our children, and that right there makes you the perfect mum and, in our children’s eyes, we most definitely have it all together,” she assured.

According to Cierra, ‘you’re doing great’ – don’t worry!
