She celebrated the birth of her baby boy, Sonny, last month, but it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Whitney Port thus far.

The reality star took to Instagram to give an insight into one of the biggest challenges of life with Baby Sonny so far: breastfeeding.

In her candid post, the former star of The Hills admitted that while she loves what breastfeeding is doing for her baby, she is ‘not obsessed with it’.

A clip from the latest episode of her YouTube series, I Love My Baby, But…, shows the 32-year-old breaking down in tears as she touches on the ‘pressure’ of nursing.

I'm not obsessed with breastfeeding. There. I said it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact that my baby is getting all the amazing nutrients from my milk and that I am literally giving him life, but it has been quite the challenge. A challenge I didn't feel prepared for at all. In this Chapter of I Love My Baby But... I discuss my trying journey through breastfeeding. I have gained so much confidence just through the support you guys have given me, so if any of this rings true or you have any tips, I am all ears. We mothers have to be there for each other. I sincerely believe this community is what has given me the confidence to feel I am not doing anything wrong. Yes, there are times the opinions and judgements of other seep in, but then I remember I have you guys and it makes all the difference. I am really looking forward to reading all the comments and tips this week. I need them more than ever. Click the link in bio to watch full video. XOXO

“I’ve heard talk about this pressure from other mothers, and I never thought that I would let it get to me, because I think I am a pretty strong person and I go with my gut,” she began.

“I don’t really compare myself to other people or what they’re doing – and now, I’m doing exactly that.”

However, while Whitney is clearly having a tough time, it seems her fans and followers have rallied to help her through.

“I have gained so much confidence just through the support you guys have given me, so if any of this rings true or you have any tips, I am all ears,” she added, in the caption.

Fair play to Whitney for speaking out about an issue that affects so many mothers of all ages, around the world. We hope things get easier for her – although it sounds like the kind and comforting words of the mum community are helping her through.
