Ariana Grande’s mum Joan has posted an emotional tribute online, to show her solidarity with the victims of the Manchester bombing.

Joan, who often accompanies her daughter on tour and was at the concert at the time of the attack, posted her thoughts to Twitter yesterday.

“This past week I have spent in reflective thought, prayer and deep sorrow,” she wrote.

"I join my daughter in extending my help and services to all those affected by the diabolical act of terror which occurred in Manchester.

"My heart goes out to all the victims: those who lost their lives, those injured, those recovering, and all survivors of that night, along with the families and friends whose grief knows no bounds.”

She added: “I stand with you all in the face of evil, and we stand together to never let it rule our lives!

"Thank you to all those who helped in any way that night in Manchester. I continually thank those who are, and were in service protecting our freedoms every day all over the world! #MemorialDay."

Joan was hailed as a heroine after she pulled a group of young fans backstage to protect them after the bomb went off.

It’s believed Joan helped to escort terrified young fans backstage and remained with them. TMZ reported: "As the chaos of people fleeing for exits started... Joan told a group of kids - possibly as many as 10 - seated around her to come backstage.

“We're told she and members of Ariana's security took the fans backstage and waited with them until they were able to safely exit the arena."

Ariana has since confirmed that she will return to Manchester to hold a benefit concert for the victims and their families.

She released a statement of her own last week, expressing her sadness at the loss of life and injuries suffered during the bombing.

The singer posted a note on her Instagram page which read: “I have been thinking of my fans, and of you all, non-stop over the past week. The way you have handled all of this has been inspiring and made me prouder than you’ll ever know.

“I don’t want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and uplift my fans, the same way as they continue to uplift me.

"I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to raise money for the victims and their families.

"I will have details to share with you as soon as everything is confirmed."
