Before we have kids, we have a pretty fully-formed image in our heads of what parenthood is going to be like. And we have to admit it’s generally rose-tinted and sepia-toned.
Sure, motherhood is amazing; but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are ups and downs, challenges we feel we won’t be able to overcome, and disillusionment at every turn.
That’s why we LOVE this tongue-in-cheek video by the Anderson family on the reality versus expectations of parenthood. When our baby is snug in our belly it’s easy to promise ourselves that we’ll be the best parents ever, that we’ll make organic homemade baby food, that we’ll remain unflappable, glam and calm.

While humorous, the video’s message is important – parenthood is hard, but all we can do is do our best and take every day as it comes – without beating ourselves up.
