While being named after a saint is all well and good, we have to admit that having a name inspired by a Jedi master or a starfighter pilot is a bit more impressive in playgrounds these days!

What we love about these Star War names (aside from the fact kids with these names can say to their friends in school, “I was named after a Jedi knight!”) is that most of them work for boys and girls.

Here are our faves and who they are in the iconic movie franchise.

Leia – the Princess with the Danish swirls on each side of her head.

Luke – a Jedi and our hero.

Rey – a female Scavenger.

Ben – the real name of the wise Jedi Obi-Wan.

Finn – another character from the last movie.

Ezra – a con-artist and thief. Erm, cute name though…

Sora – a Jedi master.

Amee – a friend of Anakin’s.

Sio – the Governor of Naboo. We're sure it's lovely this time of year...

Noa – all we know about Noa is he was marooned on a planet. Mysterious.

Arvel – a pilot.

Bren – a rebel officer in The Empire Strikes Back.

Roan – deposed galactic emperor.

Keyan – a starfighter pilot and Jedi.

Davin – an imperial stormtrooper.

Corran – a Jedi master.

Droidbait CT-00-2010-b – Clone trooper and member of domino squad (okay we’re joking about this one).

Satine – the Duchess of Mandalore.

What do you think mums? Aren't they actually gorgeous names? Would you consider calling your baby one of these? Or even as a middle name? Let us know!

Oh, and may the force be with you.
