The bravery of our fellow mothers never ceases to amaze us, and we’re pretty much in awe of mum and cancer survivor Samantha Paige today.
The 41-year-old has lit up the internet this week, proudly displaying her mastectomy scars in an inspiring and empowering advert.
Samantha posed for Equinox’s ‘Commit to Something’ campaign, and is seen getting her chest tattooed by Elena Venetia.
The image has gone viral across social media, touching hearts and minds all over the world. And Samantha’s back-story has only added to the awe.
After beating thyroid cancer, Samantha found out that she had tested positive for the BRAC1 gene, increasing her chances of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
In an incredibly brave move, Samantha decided to undergo a double-mastectomy, to give herself the best possible chance of fending off the deadly disease.
Samantha is proud of who she is and her journey, and she admitted that she has been ‘humbled by the opportunity’ to pose for Equinox’s campaign.
Instagram is full of praise too, with hordes of people branding the image ‘beautiful’ and ‘empowering’.
“Ms. Paige, you are EVERYTHING: beauty, strength, power, inspiration,” wrote one Instagrammer, summing up the general consensus.
