Congratulations are in order today, with the announcement that former Sugababes singer Heidi Range is set to become a mum!
The 34-year-old is expecting her first child with husband Alex Partakis, and confirmed the joyful news to Hello! magazine.
Heidi – who wed Alex in a stunning Italian ceremony last September – posed up a storm for the magazine, showing off her blossoming bump in a powder-pink dress.
The singer couldn’t help but gush as she looked back on her ‘big year’.
“Our wedding was amazing, and then I hoped I would fall pregnant straight away. But as each month went by, I would take a test and I got used to it always being negative,” she explained.
“So when it came back positive, it was a shock. Alex was asleep, and I came running into the bedroom with the stick, saying, ‘Is that a cross? Am I pregnant?’”
Heidi feels strongly that the timing was ‘meant to be’, as their little one was conceived on the same weekend that she and Alex moved into their newly renovated home.
“It was so special that it happened in our first family house together. It’s made our home have this lovely feeling about it,” she added.
What a gorgeous thought – we bet Heidi and Alex will enjoy plenty more happy memories in their new home!
The couple’s news comes on the same day that Strictly Come Dancing professional Aliona Vilani announced her own lovely baby news.
Aliona and her husband, Vincent, have just welcomed their first child – a daughter named Bella.
Releasing the first photos to Hello!, dancer Aliona gushed as she opened up about life as a new mum.
“We genuinely feel so blessed and happy. We got lucky. She’s very chilled. Vincent is too – as am I, when I’m not working!” she said.
