As parents, it’s hard to remember a time when we weren't stressed at least once during the day.

Motherhood can be overwhelming at times, and it is so important that we have a go-to way of dealing with this anxiety.

This stress is only natural, for we are responsible for our babies’ well-being, not to mention the constant pressure from others' judgemental eyes as well.

That is why every mum needs to set aside time for "mumcation", says psychologist Dr. Nava Silton.

She believes that being a parent takes up a lot of our daily energy, whether we’re chasing the kids down for dinner or spending what seems like hours explaining why "green beans are good for growing boys".

“Motherhood can be very stressful—whether it's financial stresses, time stresses, just trying to get a whole lot done in a very short period of time.

"I think it's really important for mothers to be rejuvenated and refreshed," she told Fox5.

So for this condition of exhausting parenthood, the doctor usually prescribes a mumcation - a getaway for mums to spend time with other mums because they are the only people who truly appreciate the holiday as much as we do.

This regular vacation is the perfect thing to recharge the parental batteries before taking on the next bedtime battle.

Plus, Dr. Silton believes it also sets a good example for young children as well.

“It's very important for kids to see that balance that ideally needs to be achieved in a family situation," she says.

The holiday could help them to gain a bit more independence and understand the importance of their mummy’s me-time.

So make sure to steal some time away for a much-needed mumcation, for you and your family's mental health.
