Ten-year-old Elle Grace Morris suffers from cystic fibrosis, and is currently awaiting a double lung transplant.

Last year, the youngster was told she may not live to see another Christmas, but thanks to her doctor she is still alive.

“I still have my same old lungs and they are still broken” she says in a heartbreaking video that forms part of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s Christmas campaign.

And in the heart-warming and tear-inducing video, the little girl reads out a beautiful letter to her doctor who has helped her since she was 15-months-old.

In it, Elle thanks Dr. Ravi Jayaram, a paediatrician at the Countess of Chester Hospital, for making her laugh, and credits him with keeping her alive.

Without your help I don't know if I'd be here today," she says.

Not surprisingly, Dr Ravi is overcome with emotion as little Elle hands him the letter. Admitting he is a big softie, he tells her that he will ask Santa for her new lungs.

Such a beautifully honest piece, you’ll definitely need a few tissues for this one.
