Justin Bieber's mum Pattie Mallette is understandably proud of her son. The Canadian singer has topped charts all over the world and his Purpose World Tour drew 2.8M eager concert-goers.

However, the 23-year-old recently received bad press from Selena Gomez's mum, Mandy Teefey, who told Gossip Cop she is 'not happy' about her daughter and Justin's reunion.

Pattie took to Instagram to show her son some much-needed love in the wake of this. The two are currently on holiday in the Maldives, so the 42-year-old shared a photo of them soaking in the sun on a boat.

"I’m so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming," she wrote lovingly.

"None of us are perfect and never will be, (so we will always need patience and grace for each other), but your genuine growing relationship with Jesus is evident in the choices you are making daily and the good 'fruit' you bear. I admire your character and integrity," Pattie continued.

"You are maturing beautifully and wise beyond your years. You are so funny that I find myself laughing out loud when I’m alone, remembering something you said or did. And your heart is gold. I love you to the moon and back."

Pattie ended her caption with a sweet addition: "P.S. Did I mention I was proud of you?"

It's heartening to see them getting on so well after their estrangement not too long ago.

Back in 2015, after his legal troubles, the 'Sorry' singer told Billboard that his relationship with his mum was, "pretty nonexisting. I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was".

Times have certainly changed, though.

In a December 2017 Insta post, Justin gushed, "Love you mom!! So proud of you and your heart for people... you inspire me to be better."

We hope they continue to support each other. That mother-son bond is simply wonderful.
