At this stage, world-famous reality television family, the Kardashians, know only too well how quickly they can become the subject of media scrutiny and public backlash.

And while many may insist they court it and are more than capable of handling it, the latest flurry of criticism may put a dampener on the Christmas spirit for the Calabasas clan.

Having just yesterday released their annual Christmas card to clamouring press and eager fans, the family may be somewhat disappointed to learn that their child-oriented Christmas card has been slammed by some members of the public.

Featuring Kim’s daughter North and Kourtney’s children Mason, Penelope and Reign, the card entitled 'All You Need is Love" will have undoubtedly warmed the hearts of many, but it’s fair to say not everyone is so enamoured.

Honing in on the children’s attire, one fan questioned whether it was appropriate to dress children in black so often, tweeting: “Why dress the babies always in black??? So depressing and inappropriate I think!”

Focusing specifically on Kourtney’s three- year-old daughter Penelope, another social media user aired her distaste, tweeting: “Who styled Penelope Disick like a high end realtor on that holiday card?”

While the childrens’ festive photoshoot may not have been to everyone’s taste, more than a few fans delighted in the family’s Christmas endeavour.

Defending the family against criticism, one loyal fan heaped praised upon the image, writing: “It’s absolutely beautiful Kim!”

“So pure and genuine, about true love! Hope you and your beautiful family are doing amazing.”

We’re sure messages like that will pick the family up if they are indeed disappointed by the backlash their adorable card received this week.
