Kate Hudson, who is ready to give birth to her third child any day now, popped by The Ellen DeGeneres show with her mum Goldie Hawn to talk all things babies and motherhood.

A very pregnant Kate joked that her waters could break at any second, saying, “let's just say you’ve probably never had anyone this pregnant on your show,''

The 39-year-old opened up about the last time she gave birth, which was in 2011 to her son, Bingham.

The gruelling labour went on for 18 hours and Goldie revealed that she didn't stay by her daughter's side the whole time.

And why was that?

“I got hungry!” Goldie laughs.

The 72-year-old continued, “she was in the stirrups and everything and was dilated. So I said, ‘I’m really hungry, I’m just going to come back,’ I came back with pizza and Doritos.”

But hold on, that wasn't everything.

Kate explains how when she called her mum to tell she that she had gone into labour, her mother's response wasn't a typical one.

“[My mum] said,  ‘I’m was about to take a swim and then I was going to have a massage. How long do you think you’re going to be labouring?’''

“And I was like, ‘I don’t know, mum!’ I’m like calling the nurse going, ‘Do you know how long I’m going to be labouring? My mum wants to swim.’ “

This baby will be Kate's third child; she has 14-year-old Ryder wih former husband Chris Robinson and seven-year-old Bingham with former fiance Matt Bellamy.

This will be Goldie's sixth grandchild - something she adores.

“The excitement is far greater than the stress part,” Goldie said.

Good luck Kate!
