About

Brooks Farm, a semi-working farm, is a wonderful visitor's attraction based inside Skeltons Lane Park in Leyton with goats, sheep and pigs among the animals to see. You can even stroke and touch the creatures at Charlie's Corner, see them being milked and watch them being fed. It's free for individual families to visit (there's a small charge for group visits) but paid for tours can also be arranged (between Tuesdays and Fridays) taking you on an hour long trip around the farm and its furry inhabitants. Spring is when the farm really comes to life with newborn lambs and pond dipping activities where you can learn about the lifecycle of butterflies and amphibians. Cow milking classes are also available, using a life size plastic cow, to show kids (and adults) how your pint is processed. During school holidays children's activities are laid on with Messy Play for the under 5s every Wednesday afternoon. The picnic area and kitchen are available for parties while the nature garden is one place where getting your hands dirty is positively encouraged.
