About

Number one favourite is very often the penguin feeding which happens twice a day every day – once with the Humboldt’s penguins and once with the African penguins. They are such great characters and are sure to make everyone smile. Join our bird keepers for the Owl Prowl, a daily feeding tour filled with fascinating and interesting facts about Birdworld’s birds of prey. (Please be aware that the diet of our owls is not for the feint hearted!)

For our younger visitors, Animal Encounters at the Jenny Wren Farm should not be missed. Cute and fluffy animals are always waiting to say hello and enjoy being stroked!

Feeding the birds
You may well have purchased some food at the admission desk with which to feed the birds. Often a little patience is required for them to come down to you, although in many cases they may gobble up all you have straight away! Most birds will only take the food if it forms part of their diet so don’t waste any on obvious meat or fish eaters. And don’t forget the chickens on the farm that will gladly finish off any food that you may have left. We would kindly ask that no other food is offered to the birds as this may well cause them harm.

Shows
A huge part of anyone’s visit to Birdworld just has to be the shows that take place throughout the day.  The Discovery Theatre show (all year round) and the Outdoor Flying display (Easter to end Oct.) are where you will meet some of our real characters. From parrots to owls and many other kinds of bird, you will be amazed as these wonderful animals swoop overhead to the delight of everyone watching.
