About

We are a family friendly museum located in Banbury’s town centre, next to the idyllic canal side.

The Civil War, plush manufacturing, the Victorian market town, costume from the 17th century to the present day, Tooley’s Boatyard and the Oxford Canal, are just some of the stories illustrated in the museum. There are also regularly changing exhibitions and activities to ensure that there is always something new to see and do.

If you are visiting with your family be sure to check out the crafty corner, bizzy bags and the hobby horse club.

Banbury Museum is passionate about history, the countless stories told by people and the things they left behind. Our role is to tell these stories, using museum collections, artwork, words and music, in engaging and exciting ways, to enrich the lives of our audiences. To achieve this, we will collect, record, conserve and curate the stories of our lives and of those who have lived before us.

For opening times and further information please see the Banbury Museum website.
