She is probably blue in face from answering questions about when and if she is going to start a family, but Kylie Minogue was surprisingly candid when the subject arose in her latest interview.

The 48-year-old really opened up about her experience, during a sit-down with The Sunday Times magazine.

Central to the discussion was her battle with cancer, back in 2005, when she was 36.

“When cancer strikes, you have to consider all of that. Trust me, there’s point when the next person who says, ‘Well, there are many options’, [makes] you want to scream,” she admitted.

The Can’t Get You Outta My Head singer added: “It’s marvellous there are options. But when you’re dealing with all the other stuff, and things that you took for granted are taken away from you, it’s like, yes, there are options.”

While the Australian hit-maker takes great joy in her status as an aunt to her three nephews, she admitted that she still does gets pangs over those ‘what ifs’.

“I guess you have those visions of, ‘God, what would my child look like, be it a boy or a girl? What would I see of myself in them?’ That’s saddening, but I’ve had to face that for a long time,” she conceded.

The star is currently loved-up with her fiancé, Joshua Sasse.
