If you worried that your child may have a learning disability or indeed a problem with their vision, then it's important that you check for the following signs which could indicate your child has a problem with visual function or perception. These issues with vision can contribute to learning disabilities or can be misdiagnosed as learning disabilities.

- Can’t focus on a task or sit still for too long
- Reverses words, numbers or letters
- Has difficulty remembering how to spell words
- Becomes frustrated when learning visual information
- Frequently loses his place, skips words or whole lines of text
- Has poor understanding of reading
- Has difficulty seeing the board or reading a book
- Has poor handwriting
- Has been medicated or tutored with no associated performance in school
- Has been diagnosed as having ADD, ADHD, or dyslexia
