A little boy has come in for major praise this week, after a snapshot of an apology note he left inside of a library book went viral around the world.

The boy, known only by the name Jackson, took out a copy of an Asterix comic from the Toronto Public Library. When it was returned, the library staff found a note explaining how a page had fallen out, complete with the sweetest apology ever.

An image of the note was shared on Facebook and proceeded to go viral, reading: “I am sorry that a page ripped when it fell out of my bunk when I fell asleep reading. It won’t happen again.”

The note has been liked and shared thousands of times since being uploaded on the library’s social media account last weekend, and staff have revealed that they are displaying the note inside the library as a keepsake!

Commenting underneath the Facebook post, library patron Al Samson wrote: “You’re so honest Jackson! Keep it up. Falling asleep while reading happens to everyone. So don’t worry. I know the library will understand. And your gesture to be apologetic and honest is the most important lesson here. Thanks for inspiring us old folks.”
