Sending your child off to summer camp can either be a stroke of genius or a disaster waiting to happen – and it looks like it proved to be a case of the latter for one American family this summer.

A very amused Melissa Christo took to social networking site Reddit this week to share a snapshot of the letter her 12-year-old relative Bailee sent home from camp – and it carries quite a serious threat to her parents!

The letter reads:

I am going to murder you guys when I get home, well you mom, because you did this to me. We had to take a stupid swim test.

I know you said I would love it, but I will never. It is terrible. Luv ya, and please ask me next time so you don’t waste 700 dollars on me.”

Naturally enough, the letter has provided plenty of laughs around the world since being published, and it has quickly gone viral.

Speaking to Yahoo! about the hilarious letter, Melissa said that she was brought back to Bailee’s mum Carrie’s childhood.

“Carrie, growing up, was always kind of bratty. And when she sent this note to me in a text message, I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so your kid!’ That is totally something that you would do,” she explained.

Has anyone else received a similar letter/ email/ text home this summer?
