“Not every little girl dreams of being a princess”, so said one incredibly talented youngster who was recently interviewed by much-loved chatshow host, Ellen DeGeneres.
Jesse Jane McParland, who stunned millions of YouTube users in recent months with her breathtaking martial arts ability, appeared on the long-running daytime show in order to share her story.
The ten-year-old girl, who was initially enrolled in ballet and Irish dancing classes by her parents, realised she struggled to muster enthusiasm for the pursuits and requested a change of direction.
Acknowledging their daughter's concerns and responding to her ideas, Jesse Jane took up karate and has gone on to stun millions of people worldwide with her captivating martial arts display.
Applauded by Ellen for her determination and tenacity, Jesse Jane taught us all a thing or two about being true to ourselves.
