David Ogden Stiers, best known for his role in M*A*S*H has passed away at the age of 75.

 

The actor’s agent confirmed the devastating news in a statement, revealing that he died following a battle with bladder cancer.

 

The TV legend starred as Major Charles Emerson Winchester III  in M*A*S*H from 1977-1983, receiving two Emmy awards for his role in 1981 and 1982.

 

 

David also voiced some of the most-loved Disney characters. His work as a voice actor landed him roles in some of the biggest Disney movies of all time, including Beauty and the Beast, where he was the voice behind Cogsworth.

 

The 75-year-old voiced characters in Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and voiced Dr Jumba Jookiba in Lilo and Stitch.

 

 

Devastated fans have paid tribute to the actor online, “RIP #DavidOdgenStiers . You were my Winchester and my Cogsworth, and one of the classiest men out there. May your family know peace.”

 

Another added, “So I just heard David Odgen Stiers died at 75 today. It's still sad to see him go. Rest In Peace, David. You were a talent that gave us our childhood and you were the best in the Disney community.”
