Young Alex Deyes was treated with real kindness at his local McDonald’s outlet last week. That’s what Alex’s carers told his sister Katie the next day.

According to his carers, one very special McDonald’s staff member called Aled couldn’t have been sweeter to Alex, who has autism.

Aled had encouraged Alex to order his own food and find the right money to pay with, without rushing him or putting him under pressure.

And impressively, Aled was just as wonderful the next night when Katie took him back for some more tasty burgers.

Katie was so impressed by Aled’s patience and sweet nature that she posted a message of gratitude to the youngster on Facebook.

“Aled remembered that my brother didn’t drink out of the bottle for his fruit shoot and offered me an empty cup without me having to ask,” she wrote.

“He then came over to our table and offered to swap Alex’s Happy Meal toy as he had given him the same one the previous evening – my brother loves collecting these toys so getting an extra, new one was really exciting for him.”

Not only that, but Aled made sure to bid them farewell as they were finishing up.

“Aled said goodbye to us as we left,” she wrote. “Alex was left feeling really happy and has asked if we can go back again to sit in – and I believe that’s because Aled was so friendly towards him.”

It turns out that Katie and her family normally take Alex to the drive-thru only, for fear that he’ll have a meltdown.

“Taking him anywhere can be quite a difficult task…but Aled made it fun and easy for us both to go in and for Alex to enjoy his meal without any funny looks or comments.”

Finishing off by calling Aled “a credit” to her local branch, she then shared a beautiful photo of her brother Alex with his Happy Meal toys. He looks pretty happy!

So far, Katie’s post has been liked over 51,000 times, and one of the people who read it was Aled – but he’s far too humble to say anything more than this:

“Thank you for this but there was no need honestly. I’m just glad he enjoyed his meal and of course his toys.”

Aww. This just shows you how being nice to others can make a huge difference to their day.
