It's official: Minnie Driver is on her way back to one of our favourite shows and we cannot wait for it. 

 

Yes, Minnie is going to be stepping back into the shoes of Lorraine Finster, Karen's nemesis and stepdaughter.

 

The 48-year-old British actor posted a picture to Instagram of her relaxing with some of the cast.

 

In the image, she's posing alongside main cast members Debra Messing, Eric MCormack and Sean Hayes as well as brand new additions Matt Bomer and Adam Rippon. 

 

 

Minnie, who previously featured in seven episodes in 2003, 2004 and 2017, is expected to star in at least one episode in the upcoming season. 

 

Her followers couldn't hide their delight that she was reprising her role in the sitcom, commenting, ''love your caption! I can’t wait to see all of you guest staring on this episode!''

 

Another wrote, ''I can’t!!! Great cast. Great show. Just Greatness!!!''

 

It's clear to see that people are more than ready to see Minnie on screen again. 

 

 

Minnie's character Lorraine was brought into the show as an adversary to Karen (Megan Mullally) in season 5.

 

Lorraine went on to sleep with Karen’s husband Stanley and in retaliation, Karen later when on to marry Lorraine’s father, played by John Clease.

 

Other guests stars for the new season have been revealed as David Schwimmer, Alec Baldwin, Chelsea Handler and Jon Cryer.

 

The new season, which will be 18 episodes, will hit television screens on October 4th on NBC. 

 

As huge Minnie fans, we couldn't be more excited about this - roll on October!
