Even a celebrity who marries the founder of one of the biggest social media platforms in the world has strict limits when it comes to exactly how much of her life she'll share with the world.
Model Miranda Kerr opened up about her pregnancy and revealed that husband Evan Spiegel, CEO and co-founder of Snapchat, won’t be documenting her labour on the photo and video sharing platform.
“No. My husband’s a very private man,” explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. Kerr added that she and her husband don’t plan on sharing their moments with their baby-to-be via Snapchat at all.
It's Snapchat's private messaging function that Kerr is more partial to, adding that she and Spiegel make a conscious effort to keep certain aspects of their lives private, despite being prominently in the public eye.
“Oh no, No, I don’t think so. What I love about Snap is you can send to your friends and family, like, you know, the little intimate moments that you’re sharing. So my family in Australia, we Snap all day long. But publicly, it’s like a different thing. You want to keep some things private.”
“That’s ironic, isn’t it?” Kimmel jokingly replied.
Given the platform Spiegel founded and the fact that he even proposed to her using Snapchat, we honestly can't blame Kimmel for asking the question when it comes to her upcoming birth - nor the fact that she shut the question down very quickly!
Kerr told US Weekly recently the couple were "really excited to expand our family,” adding that her 6-year-old son Flynn, whom she shares with ex-husband Orlando Bloom, is also thrilled about being an older brother. “He’s very excited. It’s so sweet.”
She also revealed the pregnancy was "definitely planned."
“Evan and I had been together for a while, and [Flynn] was like, ‘When are we going to have a baby brother or sister?’. We were like, ‘We’ve got to get married first,’” she said.
“The day after the wedding, he comes running in, and he’s like, ‘Mummy, is it in there?’ I was like, ‘Honey, give it a minute’.”
