We recently reported on the controversial coverage and commentary one pregnant model named Sarah Stage received after posting photos of her baby bump online.
Now, this week, yet another women has been forced to defend herself on social media over criticism of her naked baby bump pictures.
Model Megan Gale, who has graced the covers of magazines such as Marie Claire and GQ, gave birth to son River last year, and marked the wonderful event by having a photographer capture her pregnancy body in a series of stunning photos.
Taking to Instagram this week to show the photos framed and mounted, Gale wrote: “Finally got these prints framed. Thank you David Gubert not only for sending me these but also for capturing such a beautiful time in my life.”
While the majority of her followers praised her and the stunning images, there were a few who couldn’t help sharing their disapproval.
One follower wrote: “Think of the children when they get into their teens re this photo? Nice picture but I think it’s a private one.”
Naturally, Gale was taken aback by the suggestion that the image was ‘inappropriate’ and hit back at the commenter, writing: “Thanks for your comment but I’ll be raising my son not to get to concerned or stressed about trivial things like that. #eachtotheirown.”
Gale’s followers have since applauded her attitude and response, with one writing: “I’d be damn proud of my mum if she had nude pregnancy pics stuck up on the wall or published!”
We’re with Megan on this one - our beautiful pregnancy bodies should be celebrated.
