Most children look up to their parents in some shape or form.

They either want to work in the same profession, cook just like you, or simply want the happiness you encompass.

Whatever it is, each child wants to be like their parents in some small little way.

But as parents do we see this, like really see it?

We become so engrossed in our everyday activities, we tend to glance at the little things our children do rather than truly pay attention.

However, when we do see things for what they really are, sometimes we are shocked, thankfully most of the time it's the heartwarming kind of shock that makes you fuzzy.

Mia Carella, experienced this feeling first hand while watching TV with her daughter.

The mother-daughter duo were catching up on their guilty pleasure reality show, but when Mum looked away from the screen for a second, she caught a glimpse of her daughter's reality.

"My daughter was carefully examining the position of my feet and trying to match her's to mine. She had scooted herself to the edge of the couch so that her feet could rest on the coffee table."

"She had crossed her ankles like mine, and was busily making adjustments to get it just right. The moment struck me hard."

While Mia was intent on finding out which reality star was going to win a competition, she came to the realisation that she was in fact the star of her daugther's reality.

"Woah. What power we have as parents! Our little ones admire us just as we admire celebrities and television stars."

"They see us as the ones to emulate. Somewhere in the back of our minds we know this, but to see it play out so literally was eye-opening."

Mia quickly took a photo of the pair with their feet up, because as a mum she wanted to remind all parents that at any given moment, we become the stars of someone else's reality.

And what a wonderful feeling it is to know that your children adore you so much, they want to be just like you.
