For the duration of her nine-moth journey she was incredibly candid online as she regularly detailed the highs and lows of her second pregnancy, so it's no surprise that this much-loved performer is more than happy to offer an insight into the highly-anticipated arrival of her second son.
Suzanne Shaw, who first rose to fame in 2001 following her stint with reality television band, Hearsay, welcomed baby boy Rafferty into the life she shares with fiancé Sam Greenfield, and her 11-year-old son Corey in October 2015.
The star, who chose a home birth this time around, insists that her second labour differed hugely from her first, explaining: "I gave birth here in this very room with a birthing pool. I had the whole medication package with my first son Corey and that was a painful process."
34-year-old Suzanne, who has treaded the boards on London's West End, admits that her decision wasn't without its reservations, with the star admitting: "I was frightened beforehand. I kept thinking 'I'm actually going into this without any pain relief in my own home."
However, it seems the star's decision to use the hypnobirthing method suited her and her body perfectly, as she revealed: "I was in labour for seven hours but for five and half of those hours, it was close to pain-free. The last hour, when I needed to start pushing was when I felt like I was in labour."
Adamant that her decision not only resulted in a pain-free experience, but also strengthened the bond she shares with her husband-to-be, Suzanne continued: "He had an experience a father doesn't get to have. It built a massive trust between us. We did it together."
Further to this, Suzanne, who admits she initially dismissed the hypnobirthing approach as 'hippyish', revealed that the incredible experience has even changed her outlook on parenting.
"Before I was quite a stressed-out mother. I was quite neurotic and paranoid," she explained. "The positive way I approached my birthing experience has made me approach life differently now."
Suzanne, who shares her eldest son with former flame and Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Darren Day, got engaged to Sam in 2014.
