Massive congratulations are in order today following the news that former EastEnders star Ross Kemp has welcomed a baby boy into the life he shares with wife, Renee O' Brien.

The Bafta award-winning investigative journalist took to Twitter today to share the wonderful news with fans and followers.

The dad-of-two was overjoyed to announce the arrival of his son, saying: "What a day! Mum and baby doing well, Dad very proud!"

Happy to divulge further details on his son's delivery, 48-year-old Ross went on to say: "6lbs 7oz, born at 10.54am. Happy boy, asleep already!"

In addition to the heartwarming messages, the star of Ross Kemp Extreme World also uploaded two incredibly tender shots of his little boy.

The first photo showed the star cradling his beautiful newborn baby, who looked incredibly alert, as he lay in his dad's arms.

The second photo suggested it all got a little too much for the swaddled newborn as he slumbered peacefully for his doting parents.

Congratulations have poured in for Ross and Renee, who secretly tied the knot in 2012, with fans calling the new arrival 'beautiful'.

We'd have to agree - what a cutie!
