Mum-of-two Stacey was at the play gym with her toddlers when a small but monumental moment caught her attention.

Another mum was struggling to get her son to come the whole way down a slide.

It sounds like such a small problem, considering most of us have encountered the experience once or twice, and with a little coaxing our tot comes right down.

However, this moment wasn't the same as everyone else's, it was quite significant and thankfully Stacey was on hand to lend some support.

You see, the other mum was having a tough time convincing her toddler to come down, but it wasn't because he wouldn't pay attention to his mum.

Her toddler has special needs, and he really didn't want to come down the kids slide, even though he was halfway there.

Stacey had noticed the mum was persevering: "She had so much patience and strength," trying her hardest to encourage her young son to come down, so she offered a helping hand.

"Later we tried to get my kids to coax him into leaving. I even suggested to Mum we can bribe him with a later play date," added Stacey.

"With tears in her eyes, she said thank you. She told me most moms look at her like she has a disease," before praising her son for his good choice on eventually coming down.

Stacey found the revelation heartbreaking, calling on people to begin thinking twice the next time they see a mum struggling.

"Think about what you would want to hear in that instant. Think of the courage it took. Think. Then offer kindness. It matters. Every little bit matters."

It's true, every single inch of support is always appreciated in this crazy whirlwind we call motherhood - us mums need to help each other out whenever we get a chance.
