Kirsty White from Tiny Baby Socks is mum to 11-month-old Logan and knows all too well the trials and tribulations of motherhood. And the 24-year-old uses her blog to share her experiences as a first-time mum.

Clearly a very busy woman, we were delighted when Kirsty took the time out of her day to let us in on her motherhood secrets:

What is the most important thing you have learned since becoming a mum?

Leaving the house with my make up on and my hair done is far less important than I used to think it was.

What's the most ridiculous/hilarious/unbelievable thing your child has done?

Logan's at the age where he's learning so much every day, which is a joy to watch, and it also means he comes away with some pretty funny stuff sometimes. He's got this game going on with my mum when she's looking after him: she'll lie down on the rug and say 'night night Logan' and he'll crawl up beside her and lie down as if he's going to sleep. He'll then just watch her for awhile while she pretends to be asleep and when she 'wakes up' he thinks it's the most hilarious game. It so cute to watch.

What's the weirdest thing you've said/done as a parent?

I think once you become a parent most of your standards go out the window! If my child feeds me a bit of soggy, half chewed food then I'll eat it just to keep him happy. If he wants me to walk round the supermarket pulling ridiculous faces and singing stupid made up songs then I will. Regardless of the funny looks I get.

Name one thing you do that helps keep you sane?

Social media. I think it helps me stay in contact with friends that I maybe don't get to see as often but, especially with my blog, it helps me stay in contact with women that are going through the exact same things as me. The blogging community can be so supportive and any time you're going through a rough day or you're in a crappy mood about something, there is always someone else going through the exact same thing.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to other mums?

Never leave the house without a well packed changing bag. Even if you think you're only nipping out for five minutes and nothing will go wrong, you're wrong! Something will and you'll curse yourself for not having your bag!

If you had to choose just one thing that you absolutely love about being a mum, what would it be?

Well there's all the obvious ones, unconditional love, baby cuddles etc. but I'll say shopping. I used to like shopping for me but I was never great at picking things for myself - I'd end up putting everything back because I'd decide it cost too much or wouldn't look good. But now I have the most perfect little man to dress who looks super cute in everything I buy him.
