When you leave your child in another person’s care, you expect for them to follow your wishes when it comes to feeding them, so we can understand the frustration of US mum Tyler Treasure this week.

Washington mum Tyler told local news station ABC7 that she has been left feeling ‘shaken’, after her son was fed another woman’s breastmilk without her permission.

According to the report, Tyler left her four-month-old son Hunter with caretaker employees at her gym, where she has been bringing her son for the past number of weeks.

She is said to have told the employee that she did not have a bottle for her little one, but that if he got ‘fussy’ she could come and find her during her workout.

Tyler was shocked then, when she returned back from her workout to find the employee feeding Hunter with a bottle. When she asked if it was breast milk from another mother, the employee said ‘yes’, and then “shrugged her shoulders like she didn’t know what to say”.

After going public with her story, Tyler told local media: "I felt really hurt and betrayed. I work at a daycare, so I know the laws about that, especially breastmilk. It's supposed to be labelled, and it wasn't.”

Tyler has now booked her son in for medical testing and is calling for similar tests to be carried out on the woman who provided the milk.

"He's really healthy. I would hate to see something happen to him because of a stupid mistake that could have easily been prevented,” she said.
