Being a parent is a full-time job – no, seriously, they need us for everything!

So, we can totally relate to the plight of blogger and mum-of-quadruplets Ashley Gardner, who resorted to hiding in a storage cupboard to get five minutes’ peace away from her four daughters.

Ashley shared a hilarious video to YouTube this week, ‘summing up motherhood in 34 seconds’ – and it could not be more apt!

“Mum desperately needed a treat to get through the rest of the night. So I’m hiding in the pantry, eating a treat. Is that wrong?” she asks, to the sounds of high-pitched screams in the background.

“They don’t ever go away! They want everything you have!” she adds, illustrating her point by shifting her camera to the crack under door, where one of her two-year-olds is watching her.

The video has garnered hundreds of thousands of views, and the comment section is almost as funny as the video itself.

“Good lord. It’s 60 percent adorable but 40 percent terrifying. They’re cute kids, but the lack of peace or privacy would drive me to drink!” wrote one viewer.

Yep, just wait until your own little rug-rats come along!
