Our bodies are never the same after carrying and giving birth to our babies, which means we just need to appreciate our beauty in a different way.
This is something that mum-of-two and country singer Jessie James Decker is doing – and she wants mums all over the world to embrace that attitude, too.
The 28-year-old rang in the New Year with her family in Cabo, and she took to Instagram to share a bikini photo – in which she proudly showed off her ‘loose mummy skin’.
Jessie – who is mum to two-year-old Vivianne Rose and one-year-old Eric Jr. with husband Eric Decker – came in for major praise for sharing the empowering shot.
“I love how you’re not afraid to show your mummy skin, Jessie. You’re one of the most genuine celebrities out there, and that’s one of the reasons I admire you so much!” wrote one devoted fan.
Meanwhile, another chimed in: “Thank you for posting this. Mummy bodies can be GORGEOUS.”
Plenty of other mums could relate to Jessie’s post, too, with another mother adding: “I have a tummy like this, and thank you for being normal about it!”
Jessie has emerged as somewhat of a champion of a more normalised view of body image, especially for us mums.
Last year, just weeks after welcoming her second child, she acknowledged fans’ messages about her fab post-baby figure with an important message.
“Wanted to make sure y’all saw what my tummy looks like under the tank top and blazer…I do wear a belly waist-train thingy a few hours here and there, which helps C-section mamas and swelling go down. I am so glad we all can support each other,” she wrote, beneath a photo of her bare stomach.
We’re all different shapes and sizes, and it’s so important to remember that everyone has a different ‘normal’ – and there is no such thing as perfection!
