Whether you breast- or bottle-feed, how a mother provides her baby with proper nourishment is entirely a personal decision. However, for some, these choices are made due to a lack of available support or information for new mums.

While completely natural, breastfeeding can be incredibly tough, with many women moving on to a bottle a lot sooner than they might like - which is why the drop-in services in Hampshire are critical.

Providing help, guidance, information and much-needed support, women who avail of these services feel more comfortable to continue to breasfteed.

Sadly, however, in 12 weeks this service is due to have its funding stopped, something that Maria Miller MP and Lindsey Lawman are fighting against.

Standing in front of over 80 Hampshire councillors at Winchester County Council, Lindsey admitted that she wanted to give up breastfeeding at the six week mark because she “hated it”. But she credits the drop-in service with providing the information and help needed for her to continue to feed.

In fact, her speech was so passionate that the mum received a ovation from over 80 Hampshire councillors - take a look here:

Here is the video clip of deputations from both Maria Miller MP and my big sis Lindsey Lawman, this took place today...

What an incredible woman; hopefully, those in power take note of the invaluable service it provides.
